Alberta Browning Keel, affectionately known as "Aunt Bert," was born on December 21, 1927, in Dierks, Arkansas, to the late Albert Browning and Ruby Watson Browning. At the age of 14, the family moved to Texarkana, Texas, from Toms, Oklahoma, alongside her grandparents, Linzy and Trudie Watson.

Aunt Bert graduated from Macedonia High School in Texarkana and pursued higher education at Prairie View A&M University. She shared more than 60 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Otis D. Keel, who preceded her in death. A dedicated and hardworking woman, she spent over 30 years employed at Lone Star Ammunition Plant (Day & Zimmerman).

Though she had no children of her own, Aunt Bert played an essential role in raising her nieces, nephews, and many other children within the church and community. She became a beloved figure, known as "Aunt Bert" to all who knew her.

A devoted member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Aunt Bert served in multiple roles—Sunday School teacher, musician for both the Angelic and Senior Choirs, youth sponsor, and member of the Missionary Society. She also shared her musical talents as a church musician for Piney Grove Baptist Church in Texarkana, Friendship Baptist Church, and Martin Chapel Methodist Church in Redwater, Texas.

Aunt Bert never met a stranger—she had a gift for striking up conversations with anyone and everyone she encountered, whether at church, in the community, or even in Walmart. Her warm, friendly spirit made her unforgettable .

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Browning and Ruby Watson Browning; her stepmother, Doll Browning; her grandparents, Linzy and Trudie Watson; and her brother, Clemmie Lee Browning.

Cherishing her memory are her sister, Almary Browning Gaines; her nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and countless friends whose lives she touched.

Her legacy of kindness, faith, and love will remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
