Andrewetta Sutton was born on June 7, 1967, in Texarkana, Texas. Born and raised in Texarkana, she formed lifelong friendships and built deep community roots that remained with her throughout her life.
Andrewetta graduated from Liberty-Eylau High School in 1985 and later earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Madison University on October 6, 2004, graduating cum laude.
She began her career in early childhood education through the Arkansas Head Start program before transitioning to the Texarkana Housing Authority, where she dedicated years of service helping individuals and families access housing resources and support until retiring in 2013.
Andrewetta was known for her fiery personality, love of storytelling, and ability to bring laughter wherever she went. She was deeply devoted to her family and was truly the glue that held so much of it together. She found joy in spending time with loved ones, especially movie nights, family outings, music, and singing.
Andrewetta was preceded in death by her mother, Charlesetta Paxton; father, Freddie Bruce Sr.; sisters, Sandra Ford and Linda Paxton; grandmother, Rosia Lee Hopkins; uncle, Eddie Lawrence Jr.; and brother, Keith Paxton.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Kirby Sutton, Jr.; children Korey Sutton, Kody Sutton, Shy Eldridge, and Brianna Johnson; sisters Rosalind Smith and Shawnee White; brothers Shon Lawrence and Freddie Bruce Jr.; grandchildren Kodi Lynn Sutton, Harlee Sutton, Bo'Major Sutton, Tre', and Zen Eldridge; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Andrewetta departed this life on May 13, 2026.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Haynes Mortuary.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Church on the Rock, officiated by Reverend Louie B. George, with services entrusted to Haynes Mortuary.
