Mrs. Bennie V. Chatman, 76, of Douglassville, TX, gained eternal rest on February 10, 2022, at her residence. Bennie was born on April 11, 1945, to Bernice Roberson and Helen Titus in Naples, TX. Bennie retired from Red River Army Depot (DRMO) after 29 years of service. She was fortunate and blessed to acquire a 2nd retirement after 10 years from Reliable Life Insurance Co. Bennie was an auctioneer as well as Notary Public for the State of Texas.
Bennie gave her life to God at an early age and was an avid, willing worker in the Church. Anything her hands found to do to serve the Lord, She did it like ushering, speaking, teaching Sunday School, playing the piano, singing, and being a psalmist. Also, She was a member of the singing group Daughters of Zion for many years. She was a Child of God, a Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and a Friend. She was married once. Bennie was preceded in death by a Son: Johnathan Glen Chatman; both parents; two Sisters: Kathy Price and Virginia Mondy; a Brother: Andrew Mondy; and both Grandparents: Pauline H. Roberson "Madea" and Bennie Roberson "Mossy."
