On Thursday, August 24, 2023. Bennie Tyler Sr. was called home at the age of 84. The world has lost a great husband, father, and leader.


Bennie, affectionately known as "Ben", was born on May 16, 1939 in Redwater, Texas to the late Charlie Lee Tyler and Odessa Ware. Once retired, he developed a love of winemaking as a hobby and became an enthusiastic gardener like his granddad. Ben grew many fruits and vegetables which he shared with family and friends. In July 2001, Ben married the love of his life, Jouette Monegain-Tyler and they joined their families which consisted of seven children.


Ben, the most loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and Papa leaves to cherish his loving memory is survived by his wife, Jouette R. Tyler. His seven children: Bennie Ray Tyler, Jr., Debbie Tyler, Baretha Brooks (Robert), Angela Burrell-Brown (Michael), Catrina Burrell-Bush (Mikel), Michael Burrell, and Tanicca Abel. Two Godchildren: Shondaro Hairl and Harmony Atkins. Bennie also leaves to cherish his memory 16 Grandchildren, 32 Great-Grandchildren, and Four Great Great-grandchildren.

The funeral services will be Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Haynes Mortuary, Inc, 7238 W. 7th Street, Texarkana, Texas. The family will welcome relatives and friends at the Viewing Friday, September 1, 2023 5p.m. - 7 p.m. Online registration is available at www.haynesmortuary.com
