Bertha Joyce Thompson Goodwin gained her wings on June 7, 2024 at
CHRISTUS St. Michael. She was born to the parentage of the late Charles and Ruth Thompson
on December 14, 1947.

Joyce confessed Christ as her Lord at an early age and united with the Salem Baptist Church in Linden, Texas.

Joyce received her high school diploma in 1966. She worked many
years at Thiokol Ammunition Plant in Marshall, Texas and Henson-
Kickernick Inc. in Atlanta, Texas. She was a seamstress and
upholsterer by hobby, and it became fun and rewarding. She graduated
from Cosmetology School in 1980 later receiving her instructor's license.
Being the proud owner/operator of Joyce's Beauty Hut for many years
blessing her clientele with the latest cuts and styles. Along with many
jokes and laughter.

Joyce married her high school sweetheart Johnny Edwin Harper with
whom she had 2 daughters, Carolyn Denise and Monica Joyce.
Loving the Lord and music like she did, Joyce blessed many
congregations and residents of the long-term care facility, where she
lived, with her voice.

She is preceded in death by her sister Peggy Jean and God daughter
Sonjha Banks.

She leaves to cherish precious memories 2 daughters Carolyn
Montgomery of Carthage, TX; Monica Harper-Williams (Scotty) of
Texarkana , TX ; grandson Johnathon Boyce Khemet of TX; grand
daughter MaKayla King of Texarkana, TX; and 7 great grandchildren;
Sisters Charlie Ruth Allen (Gerry) of Dallas, TX; Nonie Sanders (Wayne)
of New Boston, TX; Sue Beene (Jeff) of Linden, TX. Brothers Carl
Thompson (Francis) and Jerry Thompson of Linden, TX. And a Host of
nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, AT 11:00 a.m.at Haynes
