Obituary

Bessie Mae Phillips (Red), 76, of Nash, TX gained her wings May 9 th , 2023, in St. Michael
Christus Hospital after a battle with cancer. She was born October 21, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her husband Osceola Phillips Sr and her parents Alvin and Ethel
Ray. Brothers: Alvin Ray, John Ray, Johnny Ray, Jackie Ray, and Richard Maxwell (Roc).
Sisters: Ethel Ray, Norma Ray, and Donna Ray. Grandson, Gregory Phillips and great grandson,
Geroid Jr.

She is survived by her children: Delores Teddleton, Jeanneatta Dansby, Michelle Wilson,
Osceola Phillips Jr (Tracy), Thelma Sims. Brothers: Edward Ray (Tina) and Ronnie Ray
(Andree), 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren (with one on the way), a bonus sister: Ruthie
Coleman, bonus sons: Robert Stewart Jr. and Deshun White, and a host of special nieces,
nephews, relatives, and friends. A granddog, Gaston, and a cat, Trevor, who laid on her deck
outside her window to be by her side. She has been a lifelong member of Church of Christ,
currently Twin City Church of Christ (Bro. Robert Allen). She retired from Red River Army
Depot with 17 years of civil service.

Visitation will be held at Haynes Mortuary on Monday, May 15 th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
