Carl E. Hill, Sr. was born March 5, 1948, to the late George Austin Jones and Margaret Carlene Henderson. He departed this earthly life September 2, 2024. He joined Polly Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and later joined the Oak Grove Baptist Church after his union to his wonderful wife. He received his formal education and was a 1966 graduate of Dunbar High School.
Carl united in holy matrimony on December 21, 1976 to Dorothy Wilson. To this union one child, Carl Edward Hill, Jr.., was born who preceded him in death.
Carl served his country in the United States Navy from October 1, 1974 to July 15, 1980. He was an employee of the Texarkana Independent School District from which he retired December 31, 2015.
Carl E. Hill, Sr. leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 47 years, Mrs. Dorothy Hill; two daughters, Rhonda Nash (Charles) and Cassandra Boyd (Ken); five sisters, Hazel Martin (Russell), Carolyn Moore (George), Marilyn Drake (John), Henrietta Patrick (Quintin), and Naomi Albert (John); two brothers, Derrick Henderson and Selwyn Jones; four grandchildren, Jessie Miller, Edward E. Lewis, III, Corey Miller, and De'Amber Woodard (Michael); three great-grandchildren, Joshua Wilson, Jeremiah Lewis, and Milo Woodard; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
