On November 14, 2023 at 6:25 A.M., the death angel entered the Hospice of Texarkana, Texas to bring home our beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Cathey.

Cathey Delores Patterson was born November 23, 1953 in Texarkana, Arkansas to the union of Sherman and Clarecer Patterson. She was the oldest of three children. She united with the New Town Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. George Williams and remained a faithful member until her transition.

Cathey was a graduate of Texas Senior High School Class of 1973 and also attended Bishop College of Dallas, Texas as well as Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas. She was a very hard and faithful worker and was employed at Luby's Cafeteria for 28 years. She later retired from Opportunities Inc. of Texarkana after 15 years of dedicated service.

Cathey enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as her church family. She had a warm heart and a love for everyone she came in contact with. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Randy Patterson.

Mourning her loss, yet cherishing her memory are: her son, Rodney Patterson; one sister, Elanda "Teddy" Callahan; nephew, Herbert (Nikki) Callahan all of Texarkana, Texas; god-brother, Ben (Cynthia) Huntley of Taylor, Arkansas; aunt, Velma Finley of Texarkana, Texas; close friends, Irma "Bae" Houff of Texarkana, Texas and Gloria Flowers of Texarkana, Arkansas; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing for Ms. Patterson will be 5 to 7 PM Friday, November 24, 2023 at Haynes Mortuary. Funeral will be 11 AM Saturday, November 25, 2023 at New Town Baptist Church 2203Taylor Street, Texarkana, Texas. Online registration is available at www.haynesmortuary.com
