Charles Ray Howard was born January 21, 1948 to Rachel Howard and Corine Johnson in Hooks, Texas.

He attended school in Hooks in his early years then moved to Kilgore, Texas to finish. He served two tours in the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged in California he then spent 17 years there before moving home permanently to help his Stepmother care for ailing dad.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Martha, sister-in-law Ophelia Howard of Washington, TX, daughters Tedra and Amber Howard, son Thomas Howard, his grandchildren Jonathan (Markell) Howard of Houston, TX, Kendrick Blake stationed in GA, Alyvia Marion of Seattle, WA and Quynci Williams of Gary IN, five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be Tuesday, September 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Leary Chapel Baptist Church. Viewing will be at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with military honors.
