Charles Ray Mitchell, 72 of Hooks, Texas, departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at a local nursing facility.

Mr. Mitchell was born March 22, 1947 in Pittsburg, Texas to the parentage of Roy Alfred Mitchell and Mollie L. Montgomery Mitchell. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a graduate of Pittsburg High School class of 1965. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Upon discharge, he became employed with RRAD Civil Service for the next 30 years. He was a member of the Cedar Springs Baptist Church in Hooks, Texas.

Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Billy and Jimmy Mitchell.

Those left to cherish his memory are: the love of his life for more than 30 years, Juanita Barlow; his daughters, Staci Morton of Pittsburg, Texas, Stacey Barlow and De"Ana Smith (Kendrick) of Texarkana, Texas; mother-in-law, Sarah L. Henderson of Hooks, Texas; grandchildren, Myeasha Morton and A'mya Jones of Pittsburg, Texas, and KiAnla "Sugar Baby" Smith and Kyron "T-90" Smith of Texarkana, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jaden Morton and Jaylyn Morton of Pittsburg, Texas; brother-in-law, Morris Henderson of Texarana, TX; sisters-in-law, Ann Mitchell of Pittsburg, Texas and Rene (Carlrest) Daniels of Bossier City, Louisiana; two special nephews, Roderick Black and Franky Hardy of Texarkana, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Mitchell will be 12 Noon Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Cedar Springs Baptist Church Hooks, Texas with Revs. David Cooke and Willie E. Betts officiating.
