Obituary

Christine Freeman, age 78, of TexarKana, TX passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at her residence. She was born on October 8, 1945, in Queen City, Texas to L. C. Peoples and L. Lee Richardson. Christine graduated from Dunbar High School. She worked for Texas Instruments, then continued her career with 3 years at Southwestern Bell, 21 years at GTE, 8 years of substitute teaching at local schools, and 5 years at the Housing Authority. She was an active member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She kept her faith in God by always believing in prayer. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. Christine left to cherish her memories her two sons: Fred Monroe (Joyce) and Tony Freeman (Kenisha), both of Texarkana; 5 grandchildren: Kedrick Monroe, Kemon Freeman, KeAundria Freeman, Toni Freeman, and Travaurice Walker; siblings: Mary Pops, Linda Henderson (Walter), Elizabeth Dugan Henry, Doris Haynes, Debbie Blakely, Vickey Tyson, Judy Hall, Tony Peoples, Tammie Cotton, and Derrick Peoples.
Siblings preceding her in death were James Richardson, Robert Richardson, Arthur Glenn Peoples, Lynette Harold, Rudolph Dugan, and Terry Peoples.
Her services will be coordinated by Haynes Mortuary. The wake and viewing will be on Friday May 17th from 5pm to 7pm at Haynes Mortuary. The funeral will be held at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 2921 Norris Cooley Dr., Texarkana, TX on Saturday, May 18th at 11:00 am.
