Clara Mae Griffin

Clara Mae Griffin was born June 10, 1930 in Omaha, Texas to Lula Mae Floyd and John Willie Mitchell. In her 89 years of life, she has been known by many and affectionately called Momma. She was known for her abundant love and compassion for others.

She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. She united in marriage with the love of her life, Wade Griffin, Sr. Six children were born to this union. Clara was a homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family and helping others.

Clara will forever be remembered for her spirit of kindness toward others and her love to prepare delicious hot meals for Sunday dinners and holidays.

On Friday, September 20 ^th she bid farewell to us as we surrounded her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sons, two grandchildren and numerous siblings.

Survivors include one son, Melvin Griffin, two daughters, Alice Griffin and Mary Davis; four brothers, George Clay, Lonnie Floyd, Donnie Floyd and James Floyd; four sisters, Dorothy Henry, Helen Davis, Shirley Floyd and Cynthia Floyd; one brother-in-law, Robert Robertson, Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Hazel Griffin; one special niece, Debra Baker and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Mt. Grove Baptist Church – 2801 Arkansas Blvd with Elder Romy Paxton officiating and Pastor Xavier Griffin as the eulogist. Burial will be at the St. Mary's Cemetery in Bradley, Arkansas under the direction of the Haynes Mortuary, Inc. Online registration is available at www.haynesmortuary.com
