Clara Lee
Rone
May 29, 1941 — Apr 4, 2020
Texarkana
On May 29, 1941, Clara Lee Rone was born in Willisville, Arkansas to the late Ernest & Perdis McKinney Jones. She accepted Christ at an early age at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Willsville, Arkansas which was the home church of her mother. Equally, she worshipped at Kendrick Chapel Baptist Church which was the home church of her father.
Clara attended Oak Grove High in Rosston, AR. She later moved to Texarkana and began her career as a licensed home daycare owner. Her entrepreneurial spirit was quickly recognized as she affectionately shepherded the love and upbringing for children throughout Texarkana.
Without a doubt, Clara remained anchored to her faith in God and was an active member of the St. Paul Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and the Hospitality Ministry. After retirement, Clara worked for Callie's Playskool. She delighted in spending time with her family, shopping, visiting dear friends and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Willie Rowden, Shady Rowden, Ilene Rowden, Troy Rowden, Charlie B. Jones and James O. Jones Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Clevon Rone of Texarkana, TX ; daughters, Vickie Rone Culpepper (Darryl) of Duncanville, TX and Shanta Thurman (Tremayne) of Mansfield, TX; sons, Vincent Rone (Eartha) of Mandeville, AR; Michael Rone (Linda) of Dallas, TX; Jeremy Rone (Millicent) of Little Elm, TX; Philip Rone (Stephanie) of Mesquite, TX; two brothers, Chester Jones of Texarkana, TX and Jessie B. Jones of Chicago, IL; and one sister, Gladys Dockery of Texarkana, TX; 12 grandchildren, one great grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends.
