Reverend Clemia Thomas Huey was born in Leary, Texas on July 22, 1932, to Connie Huey and Dorothy Brown Huey.  Upon his passing, he was 90 years old and had just celebrated his birthday several weeks prior.  He was an avid gardener until his passing and loved hunting and fishing.  Reverend Huey loved pastoring, ministering to others, great music of all types, and a good western.

Reverend Huey attended and graduated from Burns High School in Hooks, TX.  He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged.  He was awarded the Bronze Service Star, UN Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.  After returning from service, Reverend Huey married Georgia Thelma Townsel.  To this union seven children were born.

Reverend Huey began his ministry as pastor in Dekalb and New Boston, Texas. He went on to serve for 20 years as pastor of New Canaan Baptist Church in Ogden, AR.  He later became pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, AR, where he served for 45 years before retiring from pastoring.

Reverend Huey continued his ministry after retiring from pastoring.  He served as Vice-President of Southwest District Section 2; served as President of Southwest District Section 2; teacher in the Southwest District Congress of Christian Education; faithful member of the Canaan Baptist Church; through the Southwest District, attended the CMBSC Congress of Christian Education and the Sunday School Publishing Board Institute; and was willing to jump in and serve anywhere there was a need. His key phrase after every meeting or service was "Is Everybody Happy?"

Reverend Huey was preceded in death by his parents (Connie and Dorothy), his wife of 49 years Georgia T. Huey, two of his sons Clemia T. Huey, Jr. and Victor Wayne Huey, and one son-in-law, J.D. Hooks, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are four daughters Debra Hooks (Ray), Dorothy Hooks, Angela Rowden (Darrell), and Thelma Reeves (Charles).  He leaves one son, Tony M. Huey, Sr. (Linda).  He also leaves one special niece, Juanita Barlow, and her mother Sarah Henderson, and one daughter-in-law, Wanda Huey.  Additionally, Reverend Huey leaves 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren to carry-on his legacy.  Reverend Huey also leaves a host of other friends and family members that he cherished.
