Obituary

Colin Anthony "Scootie" Compton, a beloved son of the late Kathi Compton Mowrer and Carl Compton died Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Christus St. Michael Hospital.

Colin was a graduate of Liberty-Eylau High School and attended Texas State Technical College in Marshall, Texas. He was a former employee at Red River Army Depot where he was a certified forklift operator.

Colin accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church under the pastoral guidance of Rev. Windsor Archie and spiritual leadership of Rev. Phillip Willis, Sr. He was a Junior Deacon, served on the Junior Usher Board and sang in the youth choir.

Just as he was a beloved son, he was also a devoted grandson, brother and friend to many. He never met a stranger and would strike up conversations with both young and old alike. He leaves to mourn his passing his Bonus Dad, Charles Mowrer; his devoted grandparents Gloria D. Henderson and Henry C. Henderson; his brothers Carlos Compton, Cameron Miller, Jimmy and John Mowrer; sister, Therese Mowrer as well as Davion and Kavion Hall, who considered Colin as a father figure. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and friends will cherish his memory.
