Sixty-eight years ago, in Queen City, TX, on January 21, 1953, a third adorable baby girl, Debra Renee Braxton Guinn, was born to Willie H. and Betty Braxton. Although they were hoping for a boy, they never regretted this bundle of joy who had a mind of her own from day one. Although Debra was the third child, the oldest daughter, Elizabeth Ann passed as an infant. Elizabeth (Liz), Debra's youngest child is named in her memory.

Debra and her parents moved to Texarkana, TX where she attended Grandview Elementary School, Dunbar Junior High, and Liberty-Eylau High School graduating in 1971. Debra attended East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University at Commerce) majoring in Business. While in college, she was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and met Wayman Guinn whom she married and to this union Robin and Robert were born.

Debra began her banking career at State First National Bank in Texarkana, TX. Upon relocating to Little Rock, AR she joined Union National Bank (now Bank of America) becoming an Assistant Branch Manager having attended the American Institute of Banking.  She also worked at Alltel (now Verizon) and was an award-winning Associate and later worked at Hagan Insurance Company and Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board.

At an early age, Debra accepted Christ while attending Mt. Orange Baptist Church in Texarkana, TX and participated in the Children and Youth department. She joined First Missionary Baptist Church Seventh and Gaines in Little Rock, AR pastored by Rev. Lawrence H. Evans, Sr. where she served as Youth Director, President of the Mass Choir and Chair of the Pastor's Anniversary committee. She later became an active member of Saint Mark Baptist Church having served on the Hospitality committee and Evangelism ministry.

Throughout Debra's life, she enjoyed attending church, shopping, as well as spending time with family and friends.  She loved traveling to Dallas and watching football, as she was fond of her Dallas Cowboys. She was a woman of faith, strength, fortitude, and an inspiration to many.  Her loyalty was apparent in the sacrifices she made to ensure her children were equipped with Christian values whether it be motherly scriptural advice or spending time in prayer for their wellbeing.  Nothing pleased her more than quality time with her offspring and nurturing them in the fear and admonition of the Lord as they grew older.  Debra loved God, her family, her church and valued friendships including childhood, college, and those she met later in adulthood.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents: Deacon Willie H. & Betty Braxton; sister: Elizabeth Braxton.  Those who will cherish her memories are her loving children: Robin Askew (Chad) of Cedar Hill, TX; Wayman "Robert" Guinn (Edith) of Little Rock, AR; Elizabeth Lyles of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren: Carlton "Cydney" Calvin, Jorden Guinn, Excellence Askew, Journey Guinn, Justice Guinn; sister: Acquonetta Satterwhite (Charles) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends .
