Doris Jean Martin, 91 of Texarkana, Texas died on Sunday, January 11, 2026

Doris Jean Gaston-Martin was born July 28, 1934 in Marietta, Texas to Booker T. and Clemmie Gaston. She attended Bethlehem High School where she loved playing basketball and running track.

She was a homemaker and a humble, meek and loving wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend to all those whose paths she entered. She worked briefly at Lone Star Ammunition Plant in Hook, Texas. She was known for her culinary skills.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her children - Vickie V. Hubbard, Voyce Henderson, Billy "Cuda" Martin, Mary J. Martin, Sherry Lynn Martin and Guss W. Martin.

She leaves to cherish her legacy: Sons - Pastor Henry Martin (Lavennia), Deacon Wayne Martin (Phedora) and Earl Matthew Martin              Daughters - Linda J. Martin, Sandra L. Robinson and LonSonye R. Martin; twenty -five grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service is scheduled for Friday, January 16th at 10:00 A.M. at Hickory Hill Baptist Church - 298 Cantrell Street - Nash, Texas

Visitation will be Thursday, January 15th from 2:30 - 4:30 P.M. at the mortuary.

Burial will be at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens
