Dorothy Marie Peace was born September 16, 1941 to the parentage of Horace and Creamo Fort. She departed this life May 29, 2023.
Dorothy grew up in the Arkadelphia Community and attended Arkadelphia Elementary and Central High School in New Boston, Texas. She united with the Arkadelphia Baptist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member until her demise. She was a member of the choir, mission society and the cemetery club - serving quietly and always ready to do her share. She was employed with the New Boston Hospital and Wadley Regional Medical Center.
Dorothy was married to the late Raymond Bledsoe Sr. and the late Earsell Peace Sr. who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her parents, sisters, Lethie Fort and Effie Culberson, brother, Horace Fort Jr., son, Earsell Peace Jr., grandson, Johnny Fort, and great-granddaughter, Jordan Dorsey.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sisters, Ruthie Jennings of New Boston, Texas and Evelyn Dillard of Redwater, Texas; five sons, Joe Nelson (Vickie) of Texarkana, Texas, Raymond Bledsoe of Tyler, Texas, and Frederick Bledsoe, Edward Peace and Bruce Peace of New Boston, Texas; five daughters, Montrey Barber (Terry) of Hooks, Texas, Sheri Blackmon (Donald) of Oak Point, Texas, Cassandra Huff (Edward) of New Boston, Texas, Shelia Boone of Plano, Texas and Debbie Dawson (Rodney) of Oklahoma City, OK; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
