Dorothy Mae Hamilton Porter was born on October 5, 1942, to Wallace Porter and Leila Mae Thompson.
Dorothy grew up in Texarkana, Texas and attended Macedonia Public Schools and belonged to Evergreen Baptist Church but as an adult migrated to Kansas City Kansas to live, marry and raise her only daughter Wyzine Lanell Porter. Dorothy was a person who loved life, her family/ friends and those who met her along the way who she cherised as family. She lived and resided in St. Louis Mo for almost 20 years and was able to get her degree at Research Hospital as a Dietitian. She enjoyed what she had accommplished and used these skills to assist many who passed through her life. She made her journey back to Texarkana to support her mother Leila Mae and her only daughter Wyzine who followed pursuit with her baby daughter April Porter and later having Devarious Broadus. She became a loyal member of Christ Nation Church and served on the ushers board.
Dorothy was the regional contractor for cleaning of GTE phone company for many years and employed many and guided them. She loved this career as she continued to service personal homes and continued to work in commercial buildings such as EZ Mart for many years until she finally made the decision to retire in August 2022.
Dorothy enjoyed traveling on cruises to the caribbean and travels to Kansas as well as California. If you knew her she always carried a big smile and loved to laugh and her favorite color was "Red". She spent her spare time cooking and hosting many dinner parties. She enjoyed a good party and loved church musicals.

Special Loving Friends: Norma Jean Miller/ Sherry Ford/ Martha Beasley/Hernice Harris /Joyce Joseph/ Cathy/ Carolyn Turner-Gibson / Carnetta Hawkins/ Joan Green/Maudry Thompson/ Nikita Williams/ Rod Griffie/ Tendra Washington-Family and a host of many, many friends who are not listed but never forgotten.
