Eddye Ruth was born April 7, 1944, to Henry Gaines, Sr and Almary Browning Gaines.
Eddye Ruth graduated from Macedonia High School in 1962, where she was a well-known basketball player. After graduating from high school, she worked at Lone Star Ammunition Plant until she retired in 2024.
A devoted member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Eddye Ruth served in the choir and on the usher board. She was also a gifted piano player, and she dedicated her time, talent, and love playing for multiple ministries in Texarkana and its surrounding areas.
Eddye Ruth's friendly, caring, and funny demeanor made anyone feel comfortable and loved.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry, Sr; her daughter, Demetra; and her aunt, Alberta Keel (Aunt Bert).
She leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Melody (Rickey Boo); her mother, Almary; her siblings, Henry Jr, Ruby, and Mary (James); her grandchildren, Tiffany, Chassity, and Jacoby; 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
