Everett "E.J." Taft, Jr. 69 of Hooks, Texas passed from this life Monday August 31, 2020 at his home. E. J. was born August 19, 1951 in Hooks, Texas. E. J. was a truck driver and an electrician by trade for many years until his health began to fail. E. J. was a longtime member of the Red Bank Baptist Church where he participated in the male chorus.

E. J. was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Victoria Taft of Dallas, Texas; his son Ron Taft of Dallas, Texas; his daughter Crystal Taft of Dallas, Texas; many grandchildren; one sister Arma Dean Taft of Dallas, Texas; two brothers Elbert Olenzia Taft of Dallas, Texas and Peonel Taft of Hooks, Texas; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be today from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
