Sunrise: On a beautiful autumn day, November 24, 1935, Gene Autry Elijah was born to the late Charlie Watson and Lucille Woodard in Garland, Arkansas.

Mid-Day: Gene joined in holy matrimony to Frankie Elijah, Sr. in 1985 and was a devoted wife until her sunset. She united with the Macedonia Baptist Church where she served on the Hospitality Committee until her health failed.

Nightfall: In her spare time, Gene loved to bowl, travel and enjoyed finding the best bargains. She also loved spending time with family and friends playing card games; her great-grandchildren were the highlight of her life.

Sunset: On Sunday, May 15, 2022, Gene answered her last call to be with her Lord and Savior. She leaves behind: her husband, Frankie Elijah, Sr.; one brother, Lee Darnell (Linda) Watson of California; four sons, John Ray of California, Frankie (Debra) Elijah, Jr., Larry (Carmen) Elijah, and Reginald (Shelia) Elijah, Sr.; four daughters, Debra Ray, Cynthia Greer (Tyrone Lee) and Tiney (Gregory) Chatmon of California and Robinea Elijah; and one son-in-law, Erwain Brewer of California. She also leaves behind a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of friends and family including special friends Ruby Grigsby and Bobbie Keel Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Yvonne Brewer, and brother, Ceola Watson.
