Gladys Hatley Walker was born February 23, 1926 in Douglassville, Texas to the parentage of Gessie B. and Coy Hatley. She attended and graduated from Panhandle school. She worked various jobs but her main job was a housekeeper.

Gladys attended Sunday school faithfully and was a prayer warrior.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon "Red" Walker, her daughter Brenda Joyce Walker Gibson and her sister Elnora Bell.

She is survived by two daughters - Doris Nell Walker and Lue Vern Walker, two sons - Carl Ray Walker (Blanchie) and Phillip DeWayne Walker, sisters-in-law - Birdie Hamilton and Twila Gullatt, brothers-in-law - Melvin Walker and Willie Walker (Mary) several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Services will be Thursday, October 19th at Hamilton Memorial AME Church at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under the direction of Haynes Mortuary. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
