Glenn Parker Beene was born to the union of the late Bennie Beene, Sr. and wife, Odessa Moody Beene on April 1, 1938 in the township of Haynesville, Louisianan. This lovely bundle of joy was the sixth child of a progeny of ten. Seven of Glenn's siblings preceded him in transitioning from this earthly life as did one son, Kenneth Mark Beene. He leaves behind an immediate family to celebrate his life: a beloved wife, Queen Mary Beene; son, Derrick Beene; grandson, Emanuel James Taylor Beene; two sisters, Joyce Marie Beene and Georgia Mae Beene Harris. Additionally, to share in the celebration of Glenn's life are one brother-in-law, Eddie Joe Harris; and special nieces, Judith Germany, Kawana, Michi, Fi Fi, Karen, Latoya and Jackie.

Glenn, after marriage to Queen and relocation to Detroit, Michigan, inherited and acquired a whole new and extended family, who mourns the loss and celebrates his life as well. These include special sons and daughters that he loved, counseled, nurtured, disciplined and taught practical life skills and its applications during his thirty-five years of residency. This group includes nieces and nephews—Ronnie Lane Hopkins, Kutia Dixon, Latonja McGregor Polite, Christopher Stubbs and Eryion Burch. A very special lady, Diane Cartwright, entered his life at 15 years of age and truly became his daughter; he referred to her as "Lady" and she referred to him as "Dad". Many, many thanks and kudos to Travis Fultcher, a very special friend. We could not have made it without you. Finally, this new and extended family also included a special and select group of his wife's students—Beverly Stewart, David Boggan and Michael Thorpe. There are many other acquaintances that knew and enjoyed Glenn and will miss him dearly. They, too, share in the celebration of his life with us.

Glenn attended, studied and was educated at the Carter G. Woodson Elementary and Carter G. Woodson High School, respectively, via the Haynesville, Louisiana Independent School System. His special subject at the school was the class of Shop. He enjoyed both the class itself, and the instructor as well. Glenn often spoke warmly and eloquently of his shop teacher. He loved building gadgets and working with his hands. For the remainder of his life, he was very crafty and skillful at building and repairing various kinds of projects. One could never find Glenn without an ongoing project in process. Just goes to show you ("teachers make the difference") A PLUG FROM HIS WIFE HONEY.

Upon leaving the Pelican state, Glenn moved and established a domicile in Dallas, Texas. He lived there for approximately two years before he met, seduced and married, the love of his life; his, Queene Mary Hopkins

Beene. To this union, on December 3, 1970, a bundle of joy was born, a son, Kenneth Mark Beene. Glenn and Queen were married for fifty-nine years, five months and fifteen days. Many, many years of joy and some sorrows but they were never very far apart on anything or any subject. Shortly after the matrimony ceremony, (a period of three weeks), Glenn and his new bride left the Bluebonnet State to establish a domicile in Detroit, Michigan where the couple resided for the next thirty-five years. She pursued and completed a career as a high school teacher and his career was a furnace operator in a subsidiary factory of the Detroit Auto Industry. He worked there for a period of 31 years until his retirement in 1995. Glenn and his wife also attended real   estate school, passed the MI state real estate exam and both worked part time listing and selling real estate. Glenn and his wife began investing in real estate as a personal and private entity which became very enjoyable for both of them. He loved and enjoyed working with his wife. His most joyous and happiest moments were realized when he was near or with "Queen". If she were not around, he would as whomever "where is Queen"?

Final move, Glenn and Queen always loved Texas, always planned to return, and did exactly that. In Juned 1992 they relocated to Texarkana, Texas where they spent the last 30 years together until he met his demise at 1:04 pm on January 13, 2022.
