Mrs. Gloria Dean Wade Brooks was born on June 1, 1943, to the union of the late Burman Wade, Sr. and Ophelia Burns Wade in New Boston, Texas. She transitioned from this life on Friday, August 30, 2024, at her residence in New Boston, Texas.
Gloria accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and united with the New Zion Baptist Church. She loved singing in the choir and leading songs. Her formal education was received from the Central High School where she was a graduate of the class of 1968.
Gloria united in holy matrimony in 1969 to Mr. Leon Brooks, Sr., who preceded her in death. She retired as a housekeeper in the healthcare field from the New Boston Nursing Facility.
Gloria was also preceded in death by: her brothers, Walter Wade, Charles Wade, Sr., Alton Wade, Sr., and Herman Wade; sisters, Shirley Wade Pierce, Azell Jean Wade Compton, and Lida Faye Wade Jones.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: daughter, Tracy Michelle Wade, New Boston, TX; sons, Leon (Martha) Brooks, Jr., North Little Rock, AR, Bryant K. (Lori) Brooks, Wylie, TX, and Dontrell M. Brooks, Greenville, TX; brothers, Will A. Wade, Dallas, TX, Berman (Dora) Wade, Jr., Killeen, TX, Norman Wade, New Boston, TX, and William Beasley, Hooks, TX; sisters, Eddie Mae (Lawrence) Sadler, New Boston, TX and Asa (Terry) Scoggins, Texarkana, TX; special granddaughter, Brittany Wade, New Boston, TX; 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
