Gwendolyn Rena Wyse (Gooche), an adored wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece and great friend was born April 3, 1964, in Arkladelphia, Texas to the late Joe Lee Conkleton Sr. and late Ruth Marion Conkleton (Miller). She was beautiful, sweet, and tough as nails inside and out, and she had the personality and infectious smile that would draw you to her. She never met a stranger, so all were welcomed as family. Gwen loved her children and family tremendously, but most importantly, she loved God and was a believer of Jesus Christ, as she practiced her walk with Him daily, and it showed within her.

Gwendolyn, her classmates called her Grindl, attended and graduated from Maud High School. She was a very hard worker who met many friends along the way at various jobs including: Healthcare South, Red River Army Depot, SAIC and Dexian as a former Claims Benefit Specialist. Before her passing, Gwen, became an author of two books, "What Are Your Issues" and "Healing from the Inside and the Outside: Questioning My Path Am I on Track." Gwendolyn was also a host parent to exchange students that she still considered her children.

Gwen departed this life on December 24, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Lee Conkleton Sr. and Ruth Marion Conkleton; her son, Joshua Smith.

She leaves to cherish her unforgettable memories, her husband of 30 years, Robby Wyse of Hooks, TX; her two daughters, MeShekia (Derrick) Hannah, Amber Smith; her three sons and stepson, Joseph Lee Smith Jr, Ronnie Smith, Johnathan Smith, O'Donnis Garland. Bonus children: Eduardo Castro Soliz, Patrick Brobbey, and Marcella Torres. Her grandchildren: Xavier, Demarion, Zaniyah, Aidan, Derrick Jr., Trenton and Zariyah. Her siblings: Annette Davis, Joe (Angela) Conkleton Jr., Anthony (Tammie) Conkleton, Daron Conkleton, Lenneth Conkleton, Kimberly Henderson, Donna Conkleton, Phyllis Sanders and Darrell Crowder; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including those who had the pleasure of calling her Mama Gwen.
