Harvey James Portee was born August 20, 1930 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Portee in Idabel, Oklahoma. After his tour of duty with the United States Army from 1954 to 1961, he entered his first marriage in Palo Alto, California. This union lasted for several years until his first wife passed away. Years later, he met and married the sweetheart of 10 years and mother of his daughter, Thelma Johnson.

Following several years of employment at Watkins Johnson Electronics, he retired. After the passing of his second wife, Harvey relocated to Texarkana, Arkansas where he enjoyed his remaining years with his only child, Mary Jewel Harris.

Harvey departed this earthly life on Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Portee, and mother, Mae Etta Dollarhide Portee.

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Mary Jewel Harris; granddaughter, Cassandra Renee Mosley; great-grandchildren, Ariana Mosley and O.C. Floyd; special great-granddaughter, Felicity Cambron; great-great-grandchildren, Kyson Coulter and Kaydin Floyd; nieces, Nichole Whitley, Betty Whitley and Maize Whitley; nephews, James Whitley and Richard Whitley; great-niece, Rochelle White; great-nephew, LeeVan Robert; and a host of other relatives and friends.
