Obituary

Hoover Price, 95, passed away peacefully April 12, 2025 in Texarkana, Texas. He was a devoted father, cherished grandfather, uncle, and dear friend to many.

Hoover Price was born July 11, 1929 in Marietta, Texas to Eugene and Mary Price. At an early age, Hoover became a member of Floyd Valley Baptist Church and attended public school in Floyd Valley.

After high school, Hoover moved to Texarkana, Texas and began working as a fork lift driver at Red River Army Depot (RRAD). A year later, he began working at W. S. Dickey Clay Manufacturing Company. In 1967, he was rehired at RRAD in General Supply and remained as an employee until his retirement in 1990.

Hoover was married to Faye Lavern Price. To this union, three children were born. He was an ordained Deacon at New Town Missionary Baptist Church. In the early 1980's, he moved his membership and became an active member, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher at St. Paul Baptist Church. He was respected for his dedication and hard work. He approached every task with diligence and integrity, consistently giving his best effort and acting ethically with strong moral principles.

In his free time, Hoover enjoyed bush hogging, hunting, gardening - such as planting sweet potatoes, greens, pinto beans, tomatoes, and squash. He touched many lives and will be remembered fondly for his kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit.

Survivors include: two daughters, Faye Price-Banton of Reistertown, MD and Shelia Price-Williams of Converse, TX; son, Kenneth Price I (Doris) of Texarkana, TX; and step-son, Anthony Chapple (Linda) of DeSoto, TX.

Visitation for Mr. Hoover Price will be 5 - 7 PM Friday, April 18, 2025 at Haynes Mortuary. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, April 19, 2025 at St. Paul Baptist Church with viewing one hour prior.
