Obituary

Ida Mildred Davis Taylor was born on November 29, 1939 in Lisbon, Louisiana to the late Mr. and Mrs. Menefield and Mary Drew Davis.  She departed this earthly life on June 24, 2020 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Ida Mildred was employed for 46 years at Day & Zimmerman Ammunition Plant where she worked as a

Quality Control Inspector.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age at Friendship Baptist Church in Lisbon ,

Louisiana.  As a child, she and her family relocated to Texarkana, Texas.  She was a 1958 graduate of Dunbar High School and later attended Callahan Beauty School.   She also joined New Town Missionary Baptist Church and sang in the choir.  During her membership, she served on the Mothers Board, in the Mission Society and as a Youth Director.  She loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  She edified and encouraged her family, friends, and everyone that she encountered on the power and glory of God's word.

Ida Mildred's love for gardening was reflected in the bountiful vegetable and beautiful rose

gardens she planted each year. She was also well known for her delectable cooking, especially her sweet potato pies, pound cakes, and German chocolate cakes.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories:
