Our beloved mother, Jacqueline Elaine Burks, was born May 19, 1962, to Erma J. Henson and Tom Ray Burks. Jacqueline, aka Jackie was the captain of the Class of 1980 Texas High School Steppers. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved preparing Sunday and birthday dinners for them, and she would always share her menu on Facebook, whom many enjoyed her post about it. She had a smile that would light up a room and she was a joy to be around and loved by many.
On Saturday, March 1, 2025, Jacqueline passed away peacefully at home at the age of 62. She is preceded in death by: her parents, Erma J. Hanson and Tom R. Burks; sisters, Jean Burks and Brenda Joyce Hill; grandchildren, Devonte Brown and Ke'Aja Burks.
She leaves to cherish her memories: five daughters, La'Tisha (Jeffery) Jones of Texarkana, TX, Darnisha (Charlton) Burks of Dallas, TX, Tinisha (Dorian) Miller of Las Vegas, NV, Kinisha Burks of Texarkana, TX, and Finisha (Lee) Burks of Texarkana, TX; her only son, Darrell (Lex) Burks of Texarkana, TX; six sisters, Shirley Burks, Charlotte Burks, Janice Burks-Blake, Cynthia Burks, and Carmen Burks of Texarkana, TX and Lashonda Burks of Dallas, TX; four brothers, Marion Burks and Ronnie Burks of Texarkana, TX, Tom Graham of Louisiana and Tom Ray Burks Jr. of Minneapolis; 23 grandchildren including special grands, Jaquane Brown, Ke'Njya Burks and Doranya Miller; special friends, Trina Williams, Tammie Monroe, Jamall Linden, and Catherian Howard all of Texarkana, TX; special nephew, Jaylon White of Texarkana, TX 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
