Janie Marie Smith, 76, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away on July 17, 2019 at Christus St Michael Hospital with her family by her side. She was born to the late Paul L. Johnson and Virtie Lee Harmon, July 2, 1943, in Dekalb, TX. Janie graduated from I.M. Terrell High School, in Ft. Worth, TX.

She married the late Roy C. Smith in 1965, who preceded her in death in 2012. She is survived by one daughter, Tina M. Smith-Wilson (William) of McKinney, TX; Siblings, Carolyn Sue Tarver (Hurley) and Darlene Sanders of New Boston, TX, Lennis Stephens of San Diego, CA, James Stephens (Yulonda) of New Boston, TX, Jimmie Stephens (Kassandra) of Texarkana, TX, Robert Stephens of Dekalb, TX, Thomas Johnson of Kansas City, KS and a special Uncle, Robert Walker (Lawanda) of New Boston, TX.

Funeral Services for Ms. Janie will be at 10am, Thursday, July 25th at the Mount Grove Baptist Church, followed by interment at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens, with Revs. A.T. Jordan and Reginald Reid officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7pm at the Haynes Mortuary.
