Jeffery Wayne Mathies, age 67 of Doddridge, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2020.  Jeffery was born August 4, 1952 in Doddridge, Arkansas and was a lifetime resident.  He was a faithful employee of Cooper Tires for 36 years; never missing a day of work. Jeffery had a love of plant life and a green thumb, with over 100 plants.  He was a well respected for his plant knowledge and gardening practices.

He is preceded in death by Cobell Henry and John Maple (parents) and Angelic Coatney (daughter).

Jeffery's legacy lives on through his children, Jeffery Lamont Drake of Dallas, Texas; Shalanda Sims(Adolphus) of San Antonio, Texas; Kenric Webster of Mesquite, Texas; Gerrand Chism(Rhonda) of Dallas Texas; LaBrethia Mathies of Mesquite, Texas and Breanna Mathies of Wake Village, TX.

Also sharing in the loving remembrance of Jeffery are his siblings, Glenda Milligan, Sharon Wright and Yvette Henry of Kansas City, Missouri, one aunt Leo Williams of Kansas City, Missouri and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jeffery also leaves to cherish his memory a very special friend Mary Helen Moore of Vivian, Louisiana.

Visitation will be Wednesday July 1, 2020 from 2:30 - 4:30 at Haynes Mortuary 7238 W 7 ^th Street Texarkana Texas.

A Graveside Service will be held at New Hope Cemetery in Doddridge Arkansas on Thursday July 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
