Jesse James, Sr. of Shelby, MS, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2020, at his residence in Wake Village, TX. He joined the U.S. Army in 1948 that allowed him to serve two tours of combat in Korea before being honorably discharged in 1969. Later, he continued in his calling to protect by serving as a security guard for AT&T. In 1991, he retired to Texarkana, TX and meet his best friend, Mr. Allen, at St. Paul Baptist Church. In retirement, his faith led him to serve at Oak St. Baptist Church to help spread the Word, helped found the outreach program alongside his close friend Mr. Abbott. He is survived by his wife: Margarita; sons: Butch, Courtney, and Jesse; daughter: Theia; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
