Early Life and Faith
Jimmie Earl Houston, Sr. was born on March 31, 1962, to Roberta Stephens-Houston and Henry Houston, Sr. He grew up in the Newtown community, where his faith was nurtured as a lifelong member of New Town Baptist Church. From a young age, Jimmie embraced his faith, accepting Christ and building a foundation of values that would guide him throughout his life.

Education and Musical Talents
Jimmie graduated from Texas Senior High School in 1980. He was a proud member of the Tiger Marching Band, recognized by all as one of the "baddest" trombone players. His musical abilities extended beyond school; he was invited to play for several local church orchestras and "with parental permission" joined the band Sweet Honesty, under the leadership of Roland Pollard.

Military Service
After graduating, Jimmie answered the call to serve his country. He first joined the United States Marine Corps, a role he cherished deeply. Jimmie often said, "Once a Marine, always a Marine," reflecting his lifelong pride in his service. Later, he continued his dedication to the nation by serving in the United States Army.

Family and Church Leadership
In 1994, Jimmie married Gwendolyn Moss, and together they welcomed a son, Jimmie Houston Jr. Their family was blessed further with the addition of their beautiful daughter, Kashlon Bledsoe-Houston. Jimmie became an active member of Arkadelphia Baptist Church, serving faithfully as a Deacon and deepening his commitment to his community and faith.

Passions and Interests
Jimmie's enthusiasm for life was evident in his varied interests. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and had a special love for classic cars and trucks. Riding his Yamaha Roadstar motorcycle with his brothers brought him joy and camaraderie. He was also an avid supporter of his son, cheering him on at football, basketball, and track events.

Legacy and Loved Ones
Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, Henry Houston, Sr. He leaves behind a loving family and a wide circle of friends and relatives who will always cherish his memory:
