Jimmie Strong was born to the late Kapes Artee Strong Sr. and Drucilla Strong on July 11, 1958, in Texarkana, Texas. He was the youngest out of nine.
Jimmie attended and graduated from Texas High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Jimmie lived his life as a Texarkana resident working and retiring from Smith-Blair where he achieved numerous accolades for being a consistent employee. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed coaching baseball and basketball, fishing, watching all and any sports and old westerns on TV, and was part of a bowling league. Everyone knew Jimmie was also a life-long Dallas Cowboys fan and he would say it proudly to anyone who would listen. Jimmie loved his music, and you could often hear him blasting music by the Gap Band, Earth Wind & Fire, or the Isley Brothers. Jimmie's laugh was contagious, and he had a cool and smooth laid-back personality. He was a loving father and went above beyond to make sure his children had what they needed.
Jimmie leaves to cherish his memories, kids Ashlee (Demontris) Thompson, Muscle Shoals, Alabama; LaDarrius (Sherineciya) Strong, Los Angeles, CA; Jimmie Strong Jr., Springfield, Missouri; Aaliyah Strong, Dallas, TX; Grandchildren: Arian (Aleah) Strong, Tuscumbia, Alabama, Javar Strong, Muscle Shoals, Alabama; Aijha Harry, Muscle Shoals, AL ; Amir Strong, Springfield, Missouri; Truth Strong, Los Angeles, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
