Joe Edward Payton, 83 died on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in Texarkana, Texas.

On Wednesday morning Joe quietly and peacefully passed away to be with his Lord and Savior. He was a loving husband and a devoted father and grandfather. He was born to the late William and Estella Payton on January 5, 1942, in Texarkana, Texas. Joe was a graduate of Macedonia High School. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He worked and retired with 42 years of service from Domtar Papermill.

Funeral service will be Thursday, June 12th at 1:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church (158 Payton Road). Burial will be at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
