Obituary

Reverend John E. Lewis was born to John and Pashient Lewis on 7/29/1950 in Texarkana, Tx. He graduated from Macedonia High School class of 1968 in Texarkana, Texas; During his career, he was employed at Red River Army Depot for several years, before transitioning to an OTR truck driver for the remaining of his working life. On October 5, 1974, he married Caldon Malone and to this union three children were born, Jackie, Teresa and John Jr. He accepted Christ early in life and ministered for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pashient Lewis, four sisters, Bonnie Lewis, Ruthie Jean Lewis, Margielean Blacksher and Bobbie Crosslin; one brother, Eston Lewis, three brother-in-laws, Rufus Blacksher, Sylvester Crosslin, Clyde Moore, and one granddaughter, Lakin Bradley. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 48 years, Caldon Lewis, two sons and their spouses: John Lewis Jr III, Gregory Pree; two daughters and their spouses, Jacquelyn Rush and Teresa Hunt, one sister, Argentiner Moore; two brothers, James (Fannie) Lewis and Howard Lewis and sister-in-law, Shirley (George) Bradford; eight granddaughters, eleven grandsons, four great granddaughters, one great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
