Obituary

John L. Walker was born to Lillian Fleming January 4, 1930 in Texarkana, Texas (Wamba Community). Mr. Walker was enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. After his discharge from the Army he worked for Bruce Kennedy as a heavy equipment operator and retired with more than 30 years of service.

He was a member of the Red Springs Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and treasurer until his health declined.

John Walker was preceded in death by his mother, his wife of fifty plus years, Essie Pearl Walker, his brother Vaughn Clark and several half-sisters.

He is survived by two stepsons that he raised as his own: Curtis and James Valentine, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
