John Earl Williams, son of Robert C. and Ernestine Williams was born on June 29,1947.

John graduated from Dunbar High School, class of 1965. He later attended Prairie View A&M, and East Texas State University.  He was a charter member of the Prairie View Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.
He Joined the United States Air Force and served as an Air Policeman and Detective in at Tachikawa Air Base in Tokyo, Japan. Upon returning to the United States he worked for the Bureau of Prisons starting as a correctional officer and retiring as an Associate Warden at FCI in Texarkana. During that time he worked in several states.
John joined Oak Street Baptist Church at an early age where he remained a member. He loved to fix dishes for special occasions the church was having.

John loved to cook, garden, fish, and hunt. He was a great dancer and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved sharing vegetables from the garden with friends and relatives.

John is preceded by his parents, and his brother Robert H. Williams.

He is survived by his wife Rita Williams, daughter, Courtney (Jill), Step children John (Perdita) and Samantha Williams, brother Ernest (Carlotta), Sister Joyce Ann Sandy, Five grandchildren and one great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at Oak Street Baptist Church on Saturday, May 2nd at 1:00 p.m.
