Obituary

Lida "Faye" Wade Jones was born October 28, 1948 to the union of the late Burman Wade, Sr. and Ophelia Burns Wade in New Boston, TX. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was a faithful member of the New Zion Baptist Church serving in numerous capacities.

She attended Central High School and graduated from New Boston High School in 1967. On June 17, 1970 Faye was united in marriage to T. F. Jones, Jr. and to this union three sons were born. She worked as a teacher's aide and a substitute teacher for the New Boston Independent School District, retiring after 31 years of service. Her legacy and love for teaching and learning were felt in the lives that she touched over the years.

Throughout her life, she was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, auntie, great aunt, cousin and friend. Faye was a woman of many talents. She loved to care for others. She was a mother figure to many, a hairdresser, a shoulder to cry on, a great cook who enjoyed feeding everyone, a caregiver and the best Avon representative.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, one son, Terry Jones, brothers Walter Wade, Charles Wade, Sr. and Alton Wade, Sr., sisters Shirley Wade Pierce and Azell Jean Compton.

Left to cherish her special memory are two loving sons, Dwayne L. Jones and Dwight L. Jones of New Boston, TX; brothers Will A. Wade, Berman (Dora) Wade, Jr. pf Kileen, TX, Herman Wade and Norman Wade of New Boston, TX and William Beasley of Hooks, TX; sisters Gloria Brooks and Eddie Mae (Lawrence) Sadler of New Boston, TX and Asa (Terry) Scroggins of Texarkana, TX as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 25th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. The funeral will be at New Zion Baptist Church in New Boston on Friday, August 26th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
