Lillie Elijah, known for her exceptional culinary skills and her unwavering commitment to family, passed away peacefully at the age of 86. Lillie was a cherished figure in her community, touching lives with her warmth, generosity, and infectious spirit. Born September 24, 1937, Lillie grew up in Mandeville, AR.

She worked at the Lone Star Ammunition Plant as a bay leader, a job that spoke to her resilience and strength. Yet, it was her kitchen where Lillie truly shone. Renowned for her exquisite cakes and pies, Lillie delighted her grandchildren with their favorite treats on demand, creating lasting memories and traditions. Every summer, Lillie's home transformed into a bustling hub of joy and laughter, reminiscent of a vibrant summer camp. Her ability to create fun and her keen sense of humor made her the heart of every gathering. Her family fondly remembers the joy and camaraderie that Lillie fostered during these times.

As the matriarch of her family, Lillie was more than just a figurehead. She was a confidante, a mentor, and a friend. Her honest opinions, always delivered with love and sincerity, were a testament to her integrity and the deep care she had for those around her. Lillie's legacy is not just in the recipes she leaves behind, but in the lives she enriched through her unwavering support, kindness, and the sheer force of her personality.

She is survived by her children: Frankie Jr. (Debra); Larry (Carmen); Robinea; and Reginald (Sheila) Elijah; and sister, Bobbie Taylor.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Cella Keel; brother, Allen Keel; and sisters, Jurdene Burden and Erma Byrd.

Visitation is Friday, December 29th at Haynes Mortuary from 5-7p.m. Service is on Saturday, December 30th at 11a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Texarkana, TX. Online registration at www.haynesmortuary.com
