Lois Addine White Lee was born on August 21, 1937, in Atlanta, Texas, to the parentage of Mr. Lymon White and Mrs. Emma Richardson White. On the night of September 7, 2020, at Edgewood Manor Nursing Home, she quietly passed away and fell gently into the arms of her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. The wise owl of eternity gently whispered her name into the wind, gave it to God, and God's angel entered her name on the Heavenly Roll.

While Lois was still a young child the family moved to Domino, Texas, where she spent her early and formative childhood years. Lois was the third oldest and was the oldest daughter born into a family of five boys and three girls. She was affectionately known by her given name of "Sally" by her family and many childhood friends and close associates. She attended Rosenwald School in Domino, Texas (a school built for black students in the early 1900s by Julius Rosenwald who was one of the founders of J.C. Penney Retail Stores), Thornton High School, Queen City, Texas and graduated from Dunbar High School, Texarkana, Texas. At Rosenwald School due to her exceptional reading skills and academic abilities, she was "skipped a grade" during her early primary elementary school years.

During the time that the family resided in Domino, Texas, Lois was a member of St. Paul CME Church and, after the family moved to Texarkana in September 1952, she and her family joined Hopewell Temple CME Methodist Church when the church was located on Phenie Street. During the tenure of her 68 years of membership at Hopewell, she faithfully and dutifully served as an usher, was a member of the Stewardess Board, was a member of the hospitality committee, served time as the Adult Sunday School teacher, and was a Vacation Bible School instructor. In her quiet life, she found that the church provided for her many life enriching activities, such as, Bible Study. Lois was a dedicated "homebody," who did travel to the "big island" of Honolulu, Hawaii for two weeks, and upon her return showered everyone in the family with an authentic Hawaiian souvenir.

When the "Richardson Family Historian," Greenly Leon Richardson started his massive family genealogy project that produced a two volume set of the history and lives of the Richardson clan, it was Lois that provided the introductions he needed in Texarkana, Domino, Texas, Queen City, Texas and Douglassville, Texas to get this successful project to an excellent outcome. The introduction to these copyrighted volumes carries his personal gratitude for Lois' contributions and devotion to this project.

For her vocation of work Lois spent the entirety of work life attracted to the medical professional fields. She worked and was employed as a PRN (Practical Nurse) at St. Michael Hospital, she was also employed as a doctor's assistant at Collom and Carney Clinic; and was an in-home health care provider for Jordan Health Care Services.

Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband – Mr. Earnest Lee, three brothers, a sister, and her granddaughter, Ms. Darnisha White. She leaves to cherish her beloved memory two sons: Dwayne Earl White and wife Bobbie Gray White and Dennis Ray Jones – both reside in Texarkana, Texas; one sister – LaVerne Johnson Baptiste; two brothers – Gerald D. Johnson and wife Mary Fulce Johnson of Texarkana, Texas and Vernon L. Johnson – Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, beloved cousins, friends and her supportive and caring Hopewell family.

Graveside services for Mrs. Lee will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 15 ^th at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with Pastor Kai Horn officiating under the direction of Haynes Mortuary.
