Mark A James, 73 died on Thursday, January 22, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas.
Mark was born on Saturday, May 31, 1952 in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Clemie James, Sr. and Geraldine James Fisher. He was the fourth child of eight children born to this union. The family moved to Texarkana, Texas in 1957. Mark accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Macedonia High School and Liberty-Eylau High School. He then joined the U.S. Army. He later met and married Sharon and they had two children, Mark James, Jr. and Mukeesha James. He retired from the Army after serving twenty years. He then worked as a custodian at the Post Office in Colorado Springs, Colorado until he moved and transferred to a Dallas, Texas Post Office as a machine repairman. Mark enjoyed living his life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, eating, fishing and playing games (especially dominoes).
His earthly journey ended Thursday, January 22, 2026. He is preceded in death by three brothers, Clemie James, Jr., Edson James and Brian James.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his children - Mark James, Jr. and Muleesha James.
His sisters - Geraldine James and Jackie James-Lawrence (Tim)
His brothers - Curtis James (Annie) and Larry James (Billie Jean).
A host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 31st at 11:00 a.m. at the Haynes Memorial Chapel - 7238 W 7th Street.
