Obituary

Marshall Terry Sr. was born on October 28, 1924, in Corley, Texas, to the late Bertha Terry. He was the third oldest among his siblings. Marshall received his early education in the segregated school system of Arkadelphia.

In 1942, Marshall was drafted into the United States Army, where he honorably served his country during World War II. Upon returning from the war in 1945, he began working at the Red River Army Depot, where he remained employed until his retirement in 1981.

In June 1947, Marshall married the love of his life, Louise Edmond. Their union lasted 68 beautiful years, until her passing in 2015. Even after retiring, Marshall continued to serve his community by working as a school bus driver for the Liberty-Eylau Independent School District for 10 years.

Marshall accepted Christ at a young age and remained a faithful servant throughout his life. He served as a Sunday School teacher, superintendent, and trustee at Maud Baptist Church until the early 2000s.

On April 17, 2025, Marshall Terry Sr. peacefully departed this life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise Terry; his sisters, Ludy Darnell and Charity Moore; and his brother, Leroy Terry.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his sons, Marshall Terry Jr. (Betty) and Willie Earl "Chuck" Terry (Mary Ann); his daughters, Terri Fisher and Marshell Fisher; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Marshall will be remembered for his unwavering faith, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family and community.
