Marvel Elaine Roberts Austin Barber was born November 20, 1946 to James Roberts and Delia Criner Roberts in Tom, Oklahoma. She departed this life on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her residence in New Boston, Texas.

Marvel graduated from Central High School, New Boston, Texas in 1965. She worked at Lone Star Army Ammunition then began a banking career in 1976 which expanded to First National Bank, Central Bank and Wells Fargo and lasted until her retirement in 2015. Marvel loved her job and her customers.

Marvel was preceded in death by her father, James Roberts; and her brother, Joseph Lee Roberts.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Billy Barber; son, Gunnar Eric Austin of New Boston, TX; and sisters, Agnes Fields of New Boston, TX and Barbara A. Manning (William) of New Market, AL. She also leaves one granddaughter, Aricka Austin of West Virginia and a host of other relatives and friends.
