Mrs. May Helen McGee-Hill was born October 17, 1949, in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Earnest McGee, Sr. and Rutha Easter McGee.

Growing up, the McGee family were members of the St. James Baptist Church in Texarkana, Arkansas. Later in life May united with the Oak Street Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Louie B. George.

May attended Booker T. Washington High School. While in school, she was a majorette (the shortest one) in the all mighty Booker T. Washington band and was also acquainted with the Grambling State University Tiger Marching Band of Grambling, Louisiana. She not only learned to twirl the baton, she also learned a routine using a flaming baton. She also played the flute.

May was a loving sister, mother, and grandmother. On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, God summoned her to come to the place he prepared for her. She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers, Timothy Nard, Sr., R.L. Nard, Jr., Calvin McGee, Alvin McGee, Earnest McGee, Jr., and Mst. Gunnery Sergeant Charles McGee.

Although she is no longer present with us in body, her spirit will last forever in the lives of: one son, Kenneth W. Dolberry (Tamika) of Texarkana, Texas; two daughters, Lisa Hill of Dallas, Texas and Donna Hill-Scott (Shawn) of Longview, Texas; one brother, Rev. Lee L. Nard of Texarkana, Arkansas and ; one sister, Celia McGee-Green of Texarkana, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
