Mattie Joe Crossland was born March 15, 1933, to the late Manuel Crossland and Viola Jordan Crossland. 

She completed her earthly journey on August 19, 2026. Mattie was single and never married. She received her education at New Boston School District. During her school years, she left her studies to devote herself to caring for her mother, demonstrating at an early age the love and dedication she had for her family. She worked as a Housekeeper for Mrs. Galveston, the Duffers and others in New Boston, TX where she retires after 30 years.

Mattie accepted Christ at an early age and attended Burns Church of Christ in Hooks, Texas.

Those preceding her in death were her parents, Manuel and Viola Crossland; four brothers, Lewis, Bob Earl, Morris and Sam Crossland; three sisters, Georgia Mae Cooper, Betty Johnson and Wilma Rowden.

Though she was never blessed with children of her own, her heart was that of a mother. She lovingly helped raise her sister’s children, nurturing, guiding, and caring for them as though they were her own.
