Nathaniel Grant Collins, Jr passed away on July 23, 2021. He was born on March 16, 1930, in Naples,
Texas to Nathaniel Sr and Edna Mae (Price) Collins. He graduated from Carver High School in 1946 and
attended college at Prairie View A&M University. He left college after 2 years and joined the Air Force
where he served until 1952. He then returned to Prairie View and graduated with a bachelor's degree in
1954.

Nathaniel met Delores Voncil Holloway in Big Sandy, TX at a Sunday school convention in May of 1948.
The couple married on June 15, 1952 after Nathaniel got out of the Air Force. She preceded him in death
on January 30, 2015 after 62 years of marriage.

Nathaniel's career spanned 40 years and included Lone Star Steel, Day & Zimmermann Lone Star and 24
years at Globe-Union (acquired by Johnson Control) where he rose through various management
positions including plant superintendent. He retired from Johnson Control in 1996.
Nathaniel was a dedicated and faithful member of the Macedonia Baptist Church where he was a
member for more than 40 years. He served in various roles including Sunday School Teacher, Board of
Trustees and Deacons' Board. He stepped down as Chairman of the Deacons' Board in 2015.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Nathan Bernard Collins, his stepmother, Lorraine McCloud
Collins, his father and mother and his brother, Hobart P. Collins.

He is survived by two sons, Bruce Edward Collins (Cyndy) of San Marcos, CA, and Hobart Dwain Collins
(Sheila) of Wake Village, TX, a daughter-in-law, Roberta Miner, three sisters, Mary Edna Moss of Detroit,
MI, Sara Washington (Richard) of Red Oak, TX, and Raydonna Hall (Lester) of Waco, TX, a brother,
Patrick Collins (Lee Anna) of Naples, TX, four grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces
and nephews.
