Naydene Crockett, 82 of Texarkana, Texas died on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

Who was this kind soul who never met a stranger? With a voice as strong as the mighty wind? Who's mind was as sharp as a samurai sword?

Naydene Preston graduated from Booker T Washington High School in Dallas, TX. During her lifetime, she was...a member of the Order of Eastern Stars, a hair stylist & member of the Texas Beautician Club. She joined Hopewell CME Church as a young adult and quickly became very active in the Youth Department and worked her way to being over the Youth Department. She served in the youth adult choir and as an Usher.

She worked 15 years at Day & Zimmerman and retired after 35 years of service from Nekoosa Paper Mill (aka Georgia Pacific & Domtar).

Naydene was an avid reader and movie buff. Some of her favorite shows were - Say Yes to the Dress and Murder She Wrote.

What Naydene did bet was LOVE unconditionally with her whole heart - her family, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, close friends and others.

Naydene married Wilbert L. Crockett on November 18, 1963 and to this marriage - three daughters were born: Tonya R. Crockett, Mia D. Crockett -Haley and Cassandra "Sandy" Y. Crockett.

Naydene was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert in 2009, daughter Cassandra in 1997 as well as her parents and stepmothers.

Naydene leaves to cherish her memory: 2 daughters- Tonya R. Crockett and Mia Haley; 1 sister- Beverly Manley, 1 brother-Willie Preston, Jr. (Michelle); 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 7th at the House of Refuge at 2:30p.m.
