Obituary

Octavier "Tavi" Reeves-a devoted daughter, sister, godmother, cousin and friend to many-was born on September 29, 1992, Texarkana, Arkansas, to Roney and Sounia Reeves, alongside her big sister, Anastasia.

Tavi attended Arkansas High and went on to Texarkana College, where she studied to become a dietitian.  Driven by a big heart, she aspired to help young children diagnosed with diabetes.  When she wasn't studying, Tavi was pursuing her love for music freestyling for fun, and above all making people laugh.  She accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Shiloh COGOC, walking through life with a deep love, trust and unyielding faith in Him.

Tavi found true peace and fulfillment in life's simple joys.  She proudly walked to the beat of her own drum and fought every battle that came her way with grace and a first on the other band ready to fight-whether facing health struggles or physically standing her ground.  If you were someone she loved, she had your back, no questions asked.

To know Tavi was to love her and to know Tavi was to ger her 100% authentic self-where you were ready for it or not!  She was a total fireball who was never afraid to give you her honest opinion, rattle your nerves, or stir up a little harmless trouble just to get under your skin and share a good laugh.

Music was in her soul.  From tapping out beats on a table with a simple #2 pencil and spitting quick freestyles, to singing and performing gospel music that moved your spirit.  The studio was her ultimate happy place.  Her godchildren (Xavier, Anaiah, Amari, Janyla, Jakayla), aunts and uncles (Linda/Veodis), (Arlandos/Gayle), (Julius), (Ricky), (Thomas/Gloria), (Charles), (Kenneth/Alecia), (Phillip), (Kimberly) and friends where at the top of her list unless they made her mad.  She shared her talents freely with everyone around her.

Together, we've all been blessed with memories that will last a lifetime-moments that will either make you smile warmly or just shake your head and laugh.  While she may be gone from this world, her legacy and fiery love lives on through every life she touched.  As we celebrate her homegoing today, let's remember to celebrate life the way Tavi lived it.  It's never goodbye-it's just, "I'll see you later."
